A West Wales pervert who recorded sordid footage of a schoolgirl while grooming her online has had his jail term cut on appeal.

Liam Alexander Dorr, 30, posed as a teenager while filming a girl performing a sex act online and downloaded vile videos and images of children.

Dorr, of Plas Edwards, Tywyn, Gwynedd, was sentenced to six years in prison at Mold Crown Court last July.

He admitted two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and numerous counts relating to indecent images of children.

Police tracked down Dorr using a mobile phone number he’d given to the girl.

They discovered videos and chatlogs detailing Dorr’s sexualised contact with young girls online over several years.

There were also scores of images of young girls as well as pornography featuring a 13-year-old.

As well as the two incitement charges Dorr admitted 10 counts of making, possessing and distributing indecent images of children.

He said he was “ashamed and embarrassed” by his actions and vowed to address his offending behaviour, said Mr Justice Turner.

On appeal Dorr’s lawyers argued that his punishment was far too tough given his clear remorse.

Mr Justice Turner, sitting with Lord Justice Bean and Mr Justice Irwin, agreed that too high a starting point had been taken when passing sentence.
